Together For 2020 Website & Political Calendar

Context:
Together For 2020 and Left of Center PAC was connected with me in early 2020 because they were in need of a WordPress developer to help them build a new website. Together For 2020 is a new volunteer deployment initiative that is led by a community of activists from a coalition of progressive organizations. T2020 produces a common shared calendar, shared tool kits and other resources that can be found on TogetherFor2020.org. They also connect groups and volunteers who want to work together on critical swing races and states.

Challenge:
Design a WordPress website for TogetherFor2020.org that can be managed and updated by a distributed team of volunteers.

Approach:
After meeting with primary stakeholders and partner organizations, we wrote up a list of website specifications. We quickly began developing and testing methods for uploading events, action kits, and news posts. After 2 months of development and testing, we had a public launch with Elizabeth Warren on April 15th, 2020 (see screenshot below). The website is an ongoing project with many partners, and it is currently receiving about 5,000 unique visitors per week.
